NZSTA currently has two main publications: the New Zealand Journal of Speech-Language Therapy, which is produced annually, and Communication Matters, a newsletter produced quarterly.

New Zealand Journal of Speech-Language Therapy

This journal is produced annually by the association, and is typically distributed to members at the end of the year. The journal includes research papers, conference proceedings, and book reviews. Circulation is currently around 500.

The journal has been peer-reviewed since 2003. Current and previous journal abstracts and articles can be accessed by following this link: NZSTA Journal.

The current Editor is Dr. Marleen Westerveld. Any manuscript and editorial correspondence should be directed to her. Any other correspondence related to the journal should be directed to Shona Powell.

Communication Matters

This is the associations's magazine, which is produced seasonally, with four editions a year. The magazine provides members with updates on issues related to each portfolio held by the Executive Committee, and also advertises current Job Vacancies, and upcoming Professional Development events. Circulation of the magazine is currently around 500.

Advertising through the magazine is available at the following rates:

  • Full Page (17cm x 26cm) - NZ$400 plus GST
  • Half Page (8.5cm x 26cm or 17cm x 13cm) - NZ$300 plus GST
  • Quarter Page (8.5cm x 13cm) - NZ$150 plus GST

The Editor is Matt Walker, who currently serves on the Executive Committee. Any article or editorial correspondence should be directed to him. Any other correspondence related to the magazine should be directed to the Executive Officer.
